If you play the game, some people will pay you to get their K&Q seats from them!!!!

Check the landfill.  I know I've thrown away more than a couple in my time. ;D ;)

Okay okay okay.. so it sounds like I need a re-think here.  :D
So hey look and feel that bad huh?

I kinda knew that it'd spoil the look of my bike (which, incidentally is an american K8 *puffs chest out*)  8)

Well, here's the sob story.. ..I've been using my bike for day-to-day trips to work and back and I've finally convinced mymissus that it's a good idea for her to get a lift on my bike with me. Which is top. However, I'm pretty tall and she can't see sh1t from pillion. aaaaaaand my seat cover has started to split, so do I:

a) recover the seat with original, tell me missus that K&Q have stopped being made
b) install a periscope in the back of my lid
c) ask her to maintain her current ' leaning to one side' sitting position
d) install some kind of booster cussion arrangement
e) by her bike lessons for christmas and get her to use her own bike

any more options?

:)

You are welcome

The 'boys' can be a bit harsh when it comes to add ons!!
Do whatever you want to, it's your bike. I don't know much about these models, but I remember seeing a CB750 DOHC Custom on ebay that had a K/Q seat fitted to it, as standard I thought? Don't know if it fits?
What seat does yours have as standard?
Jim.

Raul,

thanks for the option f)

However, who says my missus isn't young with big boobs any way? ;D  :o

Jim, The original seat is the same as what can be found on a K7

Buy her the bike lessons mate!

Then buy her a real motorcycle (eg 500/4)  8)

I see that you're quite new here - have you noticed that we have one or two "mouthy" K8 owners - although I don't know of any others in the UK (you are in UK?)

Thanks for your advice SteveD, bike lessons it is.

However, I'm puzzled as to why you refer to a real bike as a 500 / 4 when surely adding an extra 250 and K8 on the end would make it in to a REAL bike

;)

yeah I'm in the UK up norf!

Fighting talk from both of you. ;)
I am sure Quail will have something to say about K8s. Btw, to make it a real bike, you need to add F1 to the name!  :)

What is the relative power to weight ratio of the two bikes?

OK here goes:

750 = 500lbs and 67bhp = 295bhp/tonne

550 = 400lbs and 50bhp = 275bhp/tonne

500 = 400lbs and 48bhp = 264bhp/tonne

Fireblade anyone?

Afraid so! and it has spread across the Atlantic!

Steve,
So the 750 is the best of them? therefore the F1 must be even better?

Why Jim?  Does it weigh less (actually even though it lost the 4-4 pipes, I don't think it was much lighter)

I think you mean "so the R1 must be even better"

Wash your mouth out at once!
I am told the F1 actually weighed 3-4 pounds more? How the hell did they manage that after losing all of those lovely pipes?

J,
Have a look at FondaHonda in the members list, he has a pic of a seat that you might like. I assume he made it? but you never know it might have come off of something else?
Jim.
