Wash your mouth out at once!
I am told the F1 actually weighed 3-4 pounds more? How the hell did they manage that after losing all of those lovely pipes?

What, so the F1's got a 4 into 1?

hmmm mine does too unfortunately.. ..it was like that when I bought it (honest!!)
and everytime I take a right turn too low it scrapes on the floor - and I hear an "eeek" from my pillion (who, incidentally is very young with big boobs)  :D

But then

I suppose...

makes mine lighter...

*starts calculating power - weight on fingers*

J,
Have a look at FondaHonda in the members list, he has a pic of a seat that you might like. I assume he made it? but you never know it might have come off of something else?
Jim.

I don't know if you were joking, if not, yes unfortunately the F1 came with a 4 into 1. Bloody ugly, but it was a lot cheaper to buy than a comparable K and most of them had lost their lovely 4 into 4 already!!
I am looking forward to meeting your pillion one day.  ;D

Greg,
I wonder if one of the computer wizards could fake a pic with that seat on a K? I hate to admit it but it looks good and comfortable.
Jim.

Wow....just realized you had a 78.

Doesnt look like it will work...the 78 frame is alot different from the 76. Seat hinges are on the opposite side from the 76 to 78. The next seat they have is for a 1980.....and thats alot different from the 78 also.....

Those seat are somewhat pricey.....to experiment with. But you probadly could relocate the hinges on the seat pan......but then again.....pricey experiment if it goes wrong....aahhhHHH!  :o

Sorry cant be of more help,
Greg

It seems that he recently changed his name to << The great "Lumbee" >>. Have a look at this post; the topic is not related, but there are some contributions from him so you can see the avatar. Personally, a K&Q seat looks horrible, but even worst on a SuperSport.

Cheers Raul,
I appreciate it

I'm thinking of going for it, even though I see what you're saying about it looking horrible, seems now I've got to balance looks with practicality. Personally, I love going for a blast on my bike with me missus, it generally means we go for longer day trips rather than just the couple of hours when I'm on me tod. and me missus (please see earlier posts for desciption) loves it too but finds is really uncomfortable and boring if she can't see.. ..you see!

Am on a mission to get her lessons and get her own bike which'll mean daytrips on bikes will turn into weekends away, which would be doubley cool.

tell you what, I'll get this seat, get me missus in to biking, buy her a bike and then replace the K&Q with an original.. ..take a photee and then maybe you'll speak to me eh: ;)

 :D

J,
I think the seat looks ok. I must say that I think the duck tail on an F1 is bloody ugly, I feel I can say this as I ride one!  :)
My seat has been lowered because the previous pilot was a short arse, had you considered this as an option?
Jim.

Mark,
I wonder if I owned a K whether I would also like the duck tail? I think I still prefer the K as that is the bike I remember first seeing when I was a lad! It was really the 4 pipes I love; I wish I could afford to put 4 pipes on my F1!!
Jim.

Jim,

having my seat lowered.. ..hmm haven't really thought about this as I don't really know where to start. The seatcover's knacked now on my bike.. ..it was absolutely fine up until 1 week ago and it split in 3 places *sob!*

4 pipes: mmm that's the next proj. for me but it's just soooo expensive.. ..I could buy another bike with that money :/

not that I'd ever want one :)

It seems a cheaper alternative as your seat is already knackered? What does a new k&q seat cost?
Did you say that you have the original 4 pipes for the bike? I would like a Suzuki GT750(and keep the CB) with 4 pipes of course.

Seat covers run to about £20 from David Silver.

Cut away some of the faom to a profile like Jim's and away y'go!

Dont force her to get into biking. That must be a personal choice. She shouldn't do it even when it is for spending more time with you. If she have an accident, both of you will regret. My wife doesn't like bikes and I'm well with that, we can share -not many- other things.
