Hi!
Does anybody know if the CB500K2 has ever been sold in the US with the carb ID 649A.
Reason for my question is, that I did not find any reference for this carb until I stumbled over a topic in a German CB forum where somebody said that these carbs where for 500K2s
My '76 CB550F came with these carbs and first I thought that this must have been a special jetting for the German/European market. But since it was running way too rich, I opened them and found out that the jets are all wrong for the 550F
Now I know that some PO has changed the stock carb with one of a CB500K2. After replacing the needles and jets, the mixture is spot on.
So maybe someone is interested in the specs of the jetting found in my carbs:
CB500K2 (German model?)
ID 649A
Keihin "Type 1"
Slow jet: 40
Main Jet: 98 (maybe replaced, had pliers marks on them)
Needle: 272304, 4th groove
Air screw: drilled, taper 18°
