Topic: Just got a 1979 Honda CB650!!

Hey All,

Im just saying Hi for the first time, I just stumbled across this forum and I know it will turn out to be a great website.  I just got myself a 79 CB650 that was sitting in agarage for 2 years.  I got it to run but it wont idle, so my next step is to take the carbs off and clean them,  I'll let you guys know how it goes and I will probably be asking many questions.

Welcome. Be prepared, much advice will follow on fixing your bike, but not from me as I know absolutely nothing!!

Welcome to the few and the proud '79 cb650 owners club.

Please post a picture.  It's always fun to see other old bikes.

Let us know how the carb cleaning comes out.
My '79 cb650 also idles poorly, especailly before it warms up.
I'm planning on cleaning the carbs when the rainy weather sets in, probably after Christmas.
