76 CB750F and cruddy 75CB750
« on: August 24, 2009, 11:12:11 AM »
Well, A few months ago I decided I wanted to restore an older bike and found a 75CB750k on CL. It is in rough shape but should be a fun project.

Of course after getting bit by the bug, I wanted a bike that actually ran so the search continued.
I saw a 1976 CB750F on CL for $800 and decided to check it out. It seemed like a nice bike but I (and my wife) talked myself out of it.
Then I saw it again about a week later. The guys description was pretty brief so maybe that turned people off. I passed on it again "I don't need it" I told myself.
Well, Two days ago it pops up again for $600. I thought, 3rd time is a charm and went and bought it. Here are some pics. I haven't even cleaned it yet.

The thing runs sweet, starts everytime first kick or electric. Good tires, stainless brake lines, drilled rotors, K&N pods, tank is clean, Accel ignition coils/wires, stainless engine bolts, Progressive shocks, and a practically mint Kerker 4into1 exhaust. I think it should clean up well.

Bikes parked in swamps tend to break down quicker  ;)

Looks like a slick machine.

That F is in great shape.  I have the same model - I only wish I got the deal you did.  Congrats and enjoy.
One day, I will put up a signature.

Now that you have one smooth looking cb750 make a rat bike out of the other.
