love your work, hadn't seen this thread before
i'm doing something disturbingly similar with a K7 750, its getting closer week by week with a lot of help from Terry who made you the oil cooler adapter all those years ago
like you i'm trying not to chop the frame though i will probably chop a few brackets off like the airbox ones and stuff.
its got XR front and back guards, unknown aftermarket plastic tank, chopper fork tubes with CB900 lowers and triples, 4 piston supermotard caliper and VFR750 disc redrilled to fit the stock hub. i've made bearclaw footpegs, modern fatbar conversion, XR600 mini fairing and front master cylinder ( which may get replaced with a huge radial one depending on how crap the front brake is), LED headlight, 4 into 1 headers with supertrapp muffler, made a dash panel from alloy sheet with idiot lights, battery isolator instead of a normal key and a GPS speedo, got rid of the electric start so much smaller battery in a cut down battery box which has been moved across the frame so the battery is exposed where the side cover would normally be, modern rec/reg on the back of the battery box with modern blade fuse holder and flasher can mounted above the battery, made my own chain guard as the original was missing
left to do is recover the seat, wiring, paint, rear shocks, oil cooler and probably a hundred other things
i'm probably only a few hundred dollars into it as the donor bike was free, and a fair bit of the cost has been on shiny new stainless nuts and bolts ( i hate using old hardware )
i'll put a couple of pictures up later as i'm at work and don't have any pictures on this computer
