Went Out On The GPZ For A bit Today
« on: August 25, 2009, 08:09:29 PM »

And THAT bike feels AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and, besides that, Iit does feel GREAT!  :o 8)   ;) That's the BIGGEST bike I've ever ridden, much less owned.

Getting used to the low, short bars, but the front end IS stiff. Either the bearings are too tight or it's got some balls that aren't completely round. In either case, I'm gonna have to make some time, take the frontend off and replace those bearings with the tapered set that the seller sent with the bike. That ought to be a tremendous improvement! I can hardly wait!!!!

Updates coming!     And, SOON, with a report on the CBX, with photos!  ;)

Bill,

Somewhere along the line I missed out on a report of you owning a GPZ and a CBX. Geez, must be nice  ;) What's the scoop? You didn't go buy that extremely low mileage CBX I previously mentioned did you?

Jerry
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

No, No, I didn't get THAT one. I do sorta know the fellow that had THAT one listed though. I met him through my local buddy. And that buddy is who I am buying the CBX from ( I say buying because I have paid half of the price now and will pay it off soon. It is a Black 80' CBX that Edie ,my buddy, detailed thaone out to loof similar to this one:

Now, the one I'm getting has a stock airbox on it, an exhaust system that looks like a 6 into 2 Kerker, but it's not a Kerker. The one I'm getting also has a stock seat and the polished engine covers on mine, are not finned. I think that's the main differences in the one in these photos and the one I am buying.

ANd these are photos of the GPZ1100

Now, the photos of the GPZ are from the seller's listing and I hope to provide photos of my onw of BOTH bikes soon. ;)

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Is this the same bike as you have Bill?

Except mine is an 83' with a Kerker 4 into 1. Good looking bikes, huh?                     AND they DO run well! :o 8) ;)  I haven't opened it up, but it IS quite "Snappy". ;D

Sure will, Sam! :D  I'll be Real Careful (not to shoot me eye out, that is.) ;)    Don't you worry, I was taught a long time ago, that you lose respect for the bike, you lose! :-\ Yep, that was what I was taught! :)

Ha! Ha! No doubt where THAT came from. 8) We are fans of "The Christmas Story" ourselves. We (Brenda, Karls and I) used to watch THAT one every year AND all the way through the annual marathon of that show. 8) AND, if that wasn't enough, we also have it on tape! ;)
