Found this over on Mike's XS Parts. You can mount the battery in any position AND, it's not a Gel Battery. What do YOU ALL think? As usual, price varies on the side and application.

thats THE best battery to have, they can be mounted in any position, even upside down. mine lasted over 4 years and it was abused badly. worth EVERY penny. even the saturn has one now.

More expensive, but I like them.  I have one in my 750 because I'm bad about checking the electrolyte level and making sure it stays fully charged, and I have a few add-ons that draw more current than stock, so it pays for its extra expense by not having to replace a standard battery as often.

Never had one for the bike but might get one. I have the Sears AGM Platimum series battery in my car. Costs about $179 as compared to the $80-90 Die Hard Gold series. About a 8-9 year warranty and has both the top and side terminals.  Highly recommend the series.

They are the only way to go. I get about 8 years out of them and yes, they can mount in any position. I've been coverting all my bikes over to them. They discharge at about 1/10th the rate of a lead acid meaning your bike can sit for months and still crank right over. But I keep mine on battery tenders.

Go to bikebatts.com. They have about the best prices ive found for all my needs.

Pretty common nowadays.  I've got one in the 750Four, one in the Sprint, and I just bought one for my T160 project.  Expensive, but I can't see why I'd want anything else.

Pretty much all batteries in new bikes (and cars) these days are AGM's.  True gels (people commonly mistakenly call any sealed battery these days a gel) are very rare.

If you can fit an AGM, it's a much better battery than a wet-cell.  In addition to the maintenance free, no venting advantages, they have a much lower static discharge rate when sitting around.

I also got me three at Batteries Plus.  If you have a local store, that may be most convenient, and their prices are pretty reasonable.

Got one in the RD for over three years. Keeps charge well. Easy to put in and take out as I don't need to worry about keeping it upright. Just overall more convenient than wet-cell.
