What in hell are Pods? My bike came with the airbox off, and I was wondering if these pod thingies would be an alternative? Thanks, and sorry for my ignorance.

Pods refer to those things in Invasion of the Body Snatchers where YOU are cloned into an alien robot....
....but maybe you were talking about pods - those things that you put on your carbs and give you such a hard time as you try and tune them to your particular bike...while they look cool they offer many potential problems (esp in the tuning department). If you are a newbie to bikes you might want to get an airbox and get the bike to run right before messing with pods....
good luck

Thanks guys. I have the stock airbox. I'll try to cram it in that tiny space somehow

Most likely, you'll need to remove the carb rack, install the air box and reinstall the carb rack using ratchet tie-down straps to pull the carbs into the intake rubbers.
