any fans of the fabulous furry freak brothers here?

a neighbor was setting up for a yard sale for tomorrow and i popped over to see if i could help. in one of the boxes, he had a complete collection, including fat freddys cat, of freak bros comics. is it silly for a 41 year old man to get excited about underground comics from the 60's and 70's?

You find the funniest ^&** to write about!
That stuff is eminently collectible now, and should be an interesting read concerning what was funny 40 years ago. We had a big stack of the Shelton stuff as well as a bunch of R. Crumb comix in the bathroom of the m/c shop I worked in. The green padded seat meant that nobody cared if you read for a bit while you were indisposed.

Fat Freddie's cat was great. Oh, back in the day............ It would be great if you could grab one of those for me. Does he have a collection of High Times too?

I wasn't around when they were new, but I really got into those comics about 15 years ago.  I only have a few of the Fat Freddy's Cat left, though.

I did used to drive around in a VW micro bus with lots of smoke billowing out of the passenger compartment. 8)  But hey, that was pretty much par for the course in Austin, TX.

Fat Freddie's cat was so cool, (always took a dump in Fat Freddie's shoes)

I actually made iron-on transfers of their "keep on truckin'" pose in high school!

I heard that there'll be a movie out some time this fall?

I always got a laugh out of the cockroach army.  The cockroach commanders never got concerned about heavy losses, since there were plenty more cockroaches to throw into the breech.

Did you see any ProJunior comics?  There was always some smart stuff in those.

he gave me some zap comix too. couldnt talk him into parting with the library of easy rider from the first 5 years it was out. i'd forgotten how much i loved the freak brothers, i used to have several tee shirts including the freewhellin franlkin one. i had all of the fat freddys cat books too. my wife is looking at me as if i'm insane, i start giggling as i'm reading the things.
