Seems that somebody else saw a business opportunity...

Those are very similar to the ones sold by David Silver Spares and Classic Motorcycle Supply.  They come with the appropriate tabs (unlike the cheap ones from Maier) and the recesses for the badges.  Everything I've read about the ones from David Silver spares is that they are awsome.  David Silver also sells the K0 repop sidecovers along with a repop K0 airbox.  It's great that a few companies have taken the time to make these parts available to us.

Look the same as the DSS ones (as previously mentioned) - I bought the left cover from DSS and it really is very good -better than original as not fiberglass and also slightly heavier....painted ok as well.

What are they selling for?  6 euros?

I can't buy the resin for that!  Injection molded parts ARE very cheap in quantity.  You still have to amortize the tooling.    Or, get some sort of subsidy.
There is also a tool life/wear issue.

They look down right nice to me. I think a company as whole could make a considerable amount of money making any of these parts again. Problem is that most of the tooling that was used in the old days is long sonce gone so there has to be alot of reverse engineering going on to be able to reproduce these parts. I can tell you I would have no problem with a reproduction part on my bike as long as I can not tell the difference between it and NOS.

Well said Tom, if the company is not making them any more, then we shouldn't feel obligated to pay ridiculous sums for crappy old OEM sidecovers full of superglue, fibreglass mat and bondo, just so we can say they're "original"! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"
