Motorcycles on meridian
« on: August 30, 2009, 01:18:45 PM »
Last night i went down to the speedway to watch Moto GP practice and qualifying. After that we went and saw the AMA flat track race. This was my first time going to a flat track event, and i was very impressed. It was simply awesome.. that's the only way to describe it.

Finally, as part of the Moto GP weekend, the city closed down several blocks of downtown and opened them only to bike traffic. There were a lot of awesome bikes and i got pictures of most of the Sohc4's i saw.

I was riding my barn fresh CB350F.. and got way more positive comments than i imagined. I was riding with my friend on his new sportster, and another friend on his CBR954RR, neither of which got any attention.

Anybody else make it?

CR750 at the honda tent at the speedway:

Much nicer 350F than mine:

Saw 2 CX500 turbos:

Nice looking 550 at the flat track race:

We had an amazing view for the flat track race.. until some drunks tore down a caution tape barrier and got everybody kicked out of our spot.

My favorite Harley of the night:

Intresting 750, not my taste, but at least a sohc4:

Great pics.  Yes, I was at Motorcycles on Meridian last night and then the race today.  Just got home.  Both were great events.  The atmosphere last night was incredible....all the bikes and people....music...etc.  Love it.  The race today was alot of fun.  I thought the 125cc race was a blast...then the GP bikes came out.  WOW!  Can't wait til next year.
