K0 fuel line routing
« on: August 30, 2009, 10:22:23 AM »
I have searched and looked for some pics on this and if someone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

My bike runs great until the tank gets low....to reserve and then starts straving for fuel. My best guess is that the upward swing on the fuel line is the culprit.

Not too sure how to run it otherwise. Over the top of the carbs would seem to provide it's own challenges.

Yes I am using in line filters but don't think that is contributing to the problem and don't intend on starting a fire storm on that topic.

The fuel lines route through the 2 holes in the carb mounting plate (shown between the 2 right side carbs) the lower hole feeds the right side pair and the upper hole feeds the left side pair. The hose for the left side goes through the upper hole and is routed between the carbs and mounting plate then is put on the fuel line post thingy (that gives the left side carbs gas).

The later carbs often has 1 hole(for the hoses) on each side between the pairs. The hose routing is the same "style" but the left side hose runs above the intake maifolds before going throught the hole on the left side mounting plate. Usually the later carbs have the holes (3) in the mounting plate for both styles.

Great question and answer.

BUT what if your K0 has no holes in the bracket?

Be careful of NOS in line fuel filters, had problems with clogging due to o ring incompatibility, flow fine then slowly restricts flow, remove let sit a week or so they flow again, these were the chrome R*ss*lls with replaceable filters.saw it on 4 different NOS,15 or more yrs old.Bill
P.S. maybe the mesh material?
