N00b in for $300
« on: August 30, 2009, 06:03:21 PM »
CB750K5.  The purchase was actually last December, but I've had other bikes in the work area so I'm just starting on this'n.

Plusses:  Starts, runs, stops when I press or pull the brakes, charges, illuminates.  Came with some spares, including stock air box, some valve covers, and a stator.  The PPO did reasonable maintenance.

Opportunities:  It does need tires, brake line, carb cleaning, etc.  It has the stock jets in spite of the pod filters and 4->1 exhaust. No center stand so I'll have to use other bikes for longer trips until I get that piece.  The tank and side covers are all repainted and in slightly different colors so I get to make it all blue.

Story:   I helped a neighbor load this up when he bought it (for $300) a few towns away.  It sat for several months while he worked on other bikes, mainly two-smokes, but some 4.  He passed it on to me for $300 and included a Clymer from when he had a 750F in the '70s.

Photo host challenged.  Sorry you don't get to see it.  Other than the paint it's not bad.

Welcome Spruce, photos are helpful but as you are just saying Hi for now we'll let you off. ;D
Yell out if you need help, we have the largest (gotta be) 750 owners forum in the world and the knowledge base is huge. :)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Use photobucket, it's free.
No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.

Before I posted I registered on Photobucket.  I click on the buttons and it says it's downloading . . . and . . . nothing.
