front fenders supports important??
« on: August 30, 2009, 09:20:34 PM »
I recently purchased a 1972 cb750 in stock condition. There is a crack in the frame  underneath the footpeg so I am thinking about making a chopper out of it. Can I remove the front fender supports without effecting anything? Any good hardtail frame s out there?

As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

The fender bracket contributes more to stability than the braces, but they contribute a little.  Later 750 models omitted the front brace.  I won't be running any braces on my new fender which is a HD part bolted to the stock bracket.

Or are you referring to the spindly supports that run from the ends of the fender to the tip of the fork lowers?  They're probably not required, but an un-bobbed fender may rattle and flap...and contact the tire eventually.
