Any ideas on how this feature works?

click "outbox".

You also have to have set the little check box at the bottom of the outgoing message to "send copy to my outbox".  I think there is a setting to default to that being checked but haven't looked for it yet so I have very few of my outgoing in the outbox.

If you do save sent messages, wouldn't hurt to clean house occasionally.
