Bub Speed Trials @ Salt Flats in September
« on: August 20, 2009, 09:13:47 AM »
Anyone planning on attending?
Aug 31 to Sept 6th on the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Great event, bikes only , rooms are usually cheap or camp at the Bend for free!

Not sure if I will make it (just got back) but am trying to get a 74 4 piper 750 to go on.. it is the 40th anniversary of the 750 Four.

So far  that I know of,  OldScrambler is riding out with a few other 750s.

Just got the word there is a Honda 750 planning to run at BUB..
in Gas & Fuel, no less.. :o

Trying to find out if its a single stick, all I know so far is its a carbed 750 Honda.

Will be nice to hear that run.. ;D

Bumping it up..

 ..fast approaching..

This Bonneville GP is a very nice event, probably one of the top bike shows in the USA, the quality of the bikes that shows up is stunning.

the sounds of 70,s and 80,s Superbikes running on the track will bring tears to your eyes..

you get to see things like Yamaha 4 cyl roadracers and Vincents and Goldstars, etc..etc..etc.. :o

.....................................................................................
If I remember correct, last year Friday at Miller (B'ville GP) was free, you got to wander the pits, paddocks, and see roadrace practice, supermoto & sidecars.. even can get a ride in a RACING sidecar ON THE TRACK.. :o.. for 20 or 25 bux.. ;D
....................................................................

Not even beginning to touch on the cool bikes that show up on the Salt Flats.. and the chance to see a sit up bike break 260mph  :o... or to see a liner zip by at 330 mph  :o...or more..

.. I am BBBAAAAAACCCCCKKKKKKKKK ! !.. :o    :o    :o

The 300 dollar 750 I first laid eyes on Aug 29, passed the test and made the trip with flying colors.. :o  :o

ran good, but I had to ....err... source ......a few parts.

Will try to write a story on it in the travel section..

 HIGH POINT..
was riding from the Salt to Miller with 3 ....4 piper 750,s. Old  Scrambler, Bill from Cali on a 74 with a trailer, and moi. That was fun, blasting down the highway..

We ran into Chris Carr, at a rest area.. last we saw of him, he was DRAFTING a pickup and trailer.. think you coulda maybe got a phone book between his car and the trailer  :o, the WhOOsh, he got an opening and was gone.. but thats just how he rolls..!

 later .....754
