Are these bars on right, or are they upside down?
« on: September 05, 2009, 06:43:17 AM »
These bars were mounted like this when I received the bike. They seem to work fine but they look funny to me. If they are not right, does someone have a pic of how they should look?

Those are 'clubman' bars, they're designed to be mounted both ways so that you can ride all week as you have them mounted, and then on weekends when you take it to the track, or head out with your buddies for a hard ride, you can flip those bars over and have a much more aggressive riding position. The simple change of shifting your weight more to the front of the bike will allow better handling and better braking, but they probably won't be more comfortable.

I'm sure tons of pictures will follow.

To each his own, but in my opinion I don't see how anyone could think they're meant to be used in that position, even if only part-time.  The angle of the pull-back in that upside down position would be murder on your wrists.

mine are upside down from what you have pictured.
and yes, they're murder on the wrist unless you're crouched down the whole time.

Mine are actually fairly comfy, but I like the low profile look a little better.

They can be mounted either or... Mine are also upside down from your pic and are fine on my wrist... I have then pulled back somewhat... Comfy... perfect sport stance.

Some feel differently, but clubman bars (mounted correctly) on a bike with stock footpegs aren't comfortable at all.  If you want a lower bar that still allows for a comfortable riding position and room for the master cylinder, try a Euro or Supersport handlebar.

the 77-78 upper tree has a higher (and further back) bar cradle, allowing for more adjustment of the bars. mine are touching the tree. I think I'm going with clipons later.

What rearsets are you running?  has anybody used the raask on a 77-78 750f?  I'm thinking of using some from a cbr600f4i.  any thoughts?
