so I think I need to get swingarm bushings pressed in and I dont remember the old one being as hard to take out as the new one is to put in

little mock up

take the spokes to get done monday

shock mounts are same as old ones
I'm worried about how hard the swing arm is to try and put in with those little disks that go between the frame and swing arm
I'll measure the differance see where I'm at

Yea, that can be an issue, however I am sure some one on the forums has fixed that problem..

In the picture I circled the area I am talking about.. Do you put a spacer in there? Seems like a big gap..

bushings go in there I just stuck the bolt in to hold up the swing arm for a look

That's tough.. There has to be a fix as I have seen swing arms like that on other 750s just look around..

I was just looking at the same style of swingarm on Carpy's site, he seems to have the bushes as well so that may be the way to go..

ya it looks like I need to put the old bushings inside the bushings in the new swingarm

WTF

this swingarm is wider in where it fits to the frame than the stock one I will need to call about that and see whats up maybe I got the F swingarm by accident?

A lot of guys here run the 29's, the 31's are more for racing and not much good for the road..

had a visit this weekend a little moral support and advising
I am sure this is the wrong swingarm because the tabs for the chain guard matches the 72 frame 1969 to 1976 had one style frame and swingarm then they changed some other stuff I don't know if 77 and 78 are the same I wonder if within 78 there is a difference in the K and F frames apart from rear master mount and rear caliper mount on swingarm what are the variations in the frames thoughout the years?

"they" sent me the wrong spokes #$%*

I tried to lace them three times took it to the Honda shop they said no go they are not right glad I'm not crazy I thought it was my lack of wheel lacing skill

gonna send out the rim, hub and spokes and let them folks figure it all out ...

I hear ya man.. Where did you get the spokes from? Hope they get it all sorted out. I have been trying to lace my front wheel with very simular results.. I suspect the same thing.

Buchanans I think thats how you spell it anyway thats all they do they can do it(f- it), it costs the same as having the shop do it here to send it to them. I wasted enough time on that I should be riding to and from work by now
I got a seven star mag coming, but I still want this thing done for if I ever want to put all the stock stuff back on

Ya it might not be you... if it looks like you need to bend a spoke to get it to go something is off it isn't as hard as I thought to find all the holes I had pics so I knew I was right it was just confirmed by other people to me!

the marks on the hub from the old spokes helped a lot ... anyway good luck!

ok update ...been doing the "what did you do to your bike today" and forgeting this
got the loner rim and tire on rode around the block a couple dozen times (I think the guy on the corner likes it) Thanks G and Ned!!!!
got a old Lockhart oil cooler and the viper fairing (gonna need to cut it a little) its starting to look very Terminator/Toecutter ...ish
George is getting the swingarm I am looking at JMC swingarms I think they get made by the English in the U.K. they are $$$mucho money$$$
got it insured
went to get plates for it ..I want the plates that are for "antique" motorcycles but the lady said thats only for riding in parades or shows and stuff like that you dont have to get inspections done on it every year, so I'm going to ride in a parade to work everyday if they ask. she wanted me to register it like a modern bike, ya its way more money too, #$%* that. not very post apocalypse anarchist if we go by all the rules, is it!

If I was just going to parades or shows I wouldn't even bother with a plate! burocraps!
