I clipped them because they had been hard wired by the PO for some reason. and no, I did not leave them bare.

another question for you guys... does the flasher unit usually have three prongs or two? Mine has only two, with an "extra" wire kinda hangin out near the terminal! gotta love "extra"wires!

The extra wire (green) is a ground.  It's not needed by most "blinkers".

so a two term. flasher module is all that is needed?
