Today i was out country cruising on my little 350F and came across a beautiful old goldwing for sale. It is pretty much mint cosmetically, obviously well taken care off. Had hard bags and trunk, as well as a vetter fairing. His asking price was 1600 bucks. He couldn't tell me maintenance records on it, as he just bought it at auction. Even told me he paid 1100 for it.
It had a small oil leak near the shifter, but that was the only leak anywhere i saw.
I went up to the office, It was a small auto shop, and asked who i needed to talk to. I found the guy and he threw me the keys and said take it out. I was wearing my jacket and he saw my 350F.
I'm in love with the bike. I probably shouldn't have rode it, since i've had my heart set on a 750 to build up. I will be taking off the bags and fairing if i do get it. I'll save them for long trips though.
What do i need to look for? The only problem i could tell was a clutch that was pretty hard to pull, and didn't quite disengage all the way. It picked up very soon, so probably just needed a little adjustment. It fired up on about the third try although i was being a pansy with the starter button like i always am. Once it started up it ran very smoothly.
