Topic: Engine removal

I am getting ready to disassemble my 1975 CB550 to paint the frame and do a general rehab of the bike......forks, brakes, tires, petcock, etc.
I have to store the engine in a very cold, unheated garage for the winter while I'm doing the rest of the work.
Should I drain the oil and leave the engine without oil or should I leave the  existing oil in the engine or should I drain the oil and put in a new filter and oil.
I will have the tank painted but it will be several months.Is it best to fill it to the top and put in a little Marvel or should I drain it and swish the Marvel until the trip to the painter.
As always, thanks for the advice.

My opnion is fresh oil and filter then a little marvel in the cylinders. If it is dry it would probably be OK whatever you do.

Fill your tank up,for a few months OK,add sta-bil or some other stabilizer if longer.Bill
