Retro... the new Black?

Ducati's SportClassics are beautiful bikes. There is a nice write up in the january 2006 Cycleworld......Anywho...Triumph is bringing back the scrambler...It might be possible that Honda might bring back the CB...

Honda usually doesn't miss a beat. Right now... it would seam to me...would be the best time to see a 70's repli-racer CB750...racing fairing and all... A road legal version of race bike...But then again has Big Red ever produced a Retro bike?

The people who tend to buy these type of things are older folks who seen them debut in their teens and 20's...The people who were that age when the CB came out are now, for the most part, finacially able to buy new bikes.

Harley has built their whole business on their version of "retro"...Classic?
Speaking Harley...Indian is schedualed to start production in 2006...I would take an Indian over a harley anyday.

I asked some folks about new CBs, seeing as how Triumph is doing it and Kawasaki has that new GPZ.  Everyone pretty much yawned. Said there are plenty of good running originals around. I'd certainly buy carb up-grades, though. BTW- are Mikunis too hard to retrofit?
Several nice looking retros coming out these days like the Norton. Somebody in Norway or iceland or somewhere is making an Indian 4 only calling it the Dakota.
As I have an Indian, I sorta wish folks would just let the name rest in peace.  Come up with a bike with fat fenders and call it something else- 'cause it's NOT going to be an Indian.
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

Honda did produce a retro machine, but I think this would probably be more of a replica than a retro style bike: http://www.sportrider.com/bikes/2004/146_04_honda_dream/

I just started my subscription to Motorcycle Classics. Pretty cool so far.

I like the idea of the retro bike, all the mod cons with the look and feel of the original. Triumph Bonny looks good, the Kwaka 650 also looks good. Not sure about the new commando though, looks a bit like a Ducati Monster?
I would buy a CB retro/replica if it actually looked like the original.
