If there is a 4 digit code on the lock cylinder, this guy can make new keys for you.  email@keys4classics.com

He is in Australia.  He made keys for an old Yamaha for me and a 2nd set of keys for my CB650 based on a picture of the original set.

I ordered two extra keys for my 550 from here and had them within a couple of days.  Nice guy to deal with too.   :)

Ok, that makes two things I'm holding for you - a helmet and I have several Honda keys. If you'll send me the number I'll look and see if I have it. If so, I can share some of my stash. I bought out a dealer's inventory a few years back of about 80 keys and I've purchased dozens more on eBay. Now, as luck may have it - you may have one that I don't have.

I hate carrying/loosing keys. Switched ignition is the way to go. One visible and easy for on and off around town riding. Then a hidden kill switch for long term storage.  Tada, you never lose your keys again!  ;D

You can also go the reverse route:  get a Honda key, take it and your locks into a locksmith and say "would you please make these locks work with this key?"

My bike was missing the seat lock so I got another, and took my key and lock in and had it back in a couple hours for $8.

I have also gotten Honda keys for existing Honda locks from

Does anyone know if it's just the ignition that has the code or if the seat lock would have the code as well? My bike came with a separate keyed ignition.

I've never looked on the seat lock to see if the number was on there, so not sure about that.  If your seat and your ignition use different keys, it's likely that someone replaced the ignition at some point with a new one.  They were both the same key originally.

a 14 pound magnet from an 18" subwoofer DOES have some use after the speaker catches fire from too much power

FYI, just about any place that makes keys can get you a set.  I lost my FZR keys and took the cylinder to them thinking I had to replace it and they just made some new ones.

Nice.  Reminds me of when I lost one of my 8 exhaust collars.  Gave up and a week later had the bike on the grass in a random part of the yard.  The kickstand sunk in the dirt and when I pulled it out, under the divot was the exhaust collar.  Creeeepppyyyy.......

i went to the local ace/true value store this afternoon and got half a dozen keys made. one in the toolbox, 1 in wifes purse, 1 in each bedside table, 1 in the end table in the living room and one, (that i'll likely forget by tomorrow morning) stuck onto the magnet of the speaker in my guitar amplifier. i misplace my car keys at least once a day, i have since the slight brain injuries i got when my neck was broken, that and the forgetting what i'm talking about are the only 2 major effects (thank god) i've noticed.
