1979 CB750K - Norcal
« on: August 30, 2009, 11:54:26 AM »
Proud new owner here from San Francisco, CA. I know its a DOHC... but this is the best forum I've joined in awhile.

Former bike was an 03 cbr 600 f4i, but I'm more of a classic kind of guy. Sold that bike in 2004, and have been riding 150cc scooters since (perfect for my downtown living situation with parking n all that....). Always wanted a cafe racer, figured what the hell and I'm loving it so far. Looking forward to contributing and coming out for some rides.

Nice ride. I think you will be able to meet up with some of the west coasters from here.. I won't be getting out that way. Can't wait to see what (if anything) you do to her to maker her your own ride..

Ride safe,
Scott.

Thanks Scott. I got about a month ago... runs well, just due for regular maintenance (valve adj, carb cleaning, small leak @ front fork seal... ez stuff). I repainted the tank, seat, side covers, front fender. Ill probably just end up swapping the shocks n fork springs to progressive. Otherwise its a good daily rider as-is.

What year did the 750 go DOHC? My 650 is a 79 and it is SOHC!
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!
