750 Revving
« on: September 09, 2009, 11:39:14 AM »
My 750 wont rev down when I let of the throttle, if it is under load it will go down and stay. but just to rev up and down sometimes, not all the time, it won't rev down. The throttle is returning. the spring is there. I cleaned the carbs not to long ago....  Sticky slide? Air leak? Any ideas before i pull them off again? Thanks in advance!

You need a vacuum carb. synch. to cure your problem.... slides out-of-step with each other will cause the motor to rev. up like you describe with the throttle closed.
If your sure it's a carb problem; it's ignition,

Be sure to check the slides or throttle valve also for any type of build up. If your gas has any rust at all a film will build up on them, only have to stick a small fraction to make it hold at 3,000 +. Had the problem before, stumped me for awhile.
