Master cylinder compatibility for 76 CB400F
« on: September 11, 2009, 03:43:39 PM »
I would like to upgrade my master cylinder on my 1976 CB400F.  I understand that piston cylinder bore is an important number when considering a new m/c.  I would like to stick with the stock ratio but I don't know what the stock m/c piston bore dimension is.  Does anyone know that the stock dimention is?

I have a m/c from a 2005 Honda Rebel 250 that I would like to use but the stock caliper on the Rebel was a dual piston type.  Would this still work?

There are a few m/c on ebay that have a 12.7mm and 14mm cylinder bore.  Any idea what would be compatible with my CB400?

Looks like an interesting link but its all Greek to me.  Is there a Dummies book for this?
