A question about modifying side covers

Ok, so I was over in the "Inspiration" thread and saw that many of the bikes there had nothing where the oil tank/fuses go (no covers, no nothing).  Where do they get relocated to?  Sorry if I sound like a complete rookie, but I am curious as I am getting ready to start on my 750 K4.  Any help or point in the right direction is appreciated.  Thanks.

The Cafe style seats will have bubble area in the back.  They are generally relocated there.  I do not have the details so I no additional answers for you.  Well, in one of the last three BOTM's there was one shown there with the seat off.  It was well done.

That looks to be a 550, so no oil tank on that one.
