CB350F restoration
« on: September 13, 2009, 01:15:56 PM »
I have an all original cb350F, minus the exhaust. It has the original paint which is faded, but in decent condition. The tank has one dent in the side. I am considering getting it repainted the factory color but am unsure if this would hurt the value of the bike. The only painted pieces that really look bad are the headlight ears. The paint on them is flaking very badly, I haven't even touched them since i pulled it out of the barn.

Thoughts?

Many CB350f owners remove those ears and replace them with a different headlight bucket mount.  You might just want to watch eBay for a while to see if you can find a set of ears with the correct factory paint.

What Color?     Ears pop up on ebay fairly often.

If you have Candy Baccus Olive (the fastest cb350f color) you could try doing your ears with the Jeep "moss green" mentioned towards the bottom of this post:

It's flake matador red. My side covers are perfect, The tank isn't bad besides the dent, the headlight ears are the worst. My options would be buy better looking ears and leave the dent, or just have it all repainted. The inside of my tank is pretty much rust free. Didn't even clean it. My inline filter caught a few flakes of rust but not much.
