There was a recent mention of using heated gloves during cold
weather. How much current do these jobbies draw? I'm wondering
if the alternator is up to supplying them and a halogen headlight. Do
they have a cable snaked up through the sleeves for power or what?

I have a mental picture of a car battery strapped on the rear
luggage rack....

they work similarly to most heated grips... they are connected thru the batt and use a simple wire connection that clicks together when you get on and off your bike. just remember to unattach yourself before you walk away!... they are a tiny bit more cumbersome than the grips because you are attached by wire to your ride but it is really quite simple.

your charging system should be able to handle it.

I've also seen gloves that have thier own self-contained batteries. Probably OK if you don't do too much cold weather riding...

When I first heard of heated gloves one word kept ringing in my head, sissies.
I now take that back. it has been in the 40's and raining here and I caught myself saying "wish I had a heated gloves."

They don't seem to have ones for a 750.

Good thing too

There has to be a better way/ Just can't imagine those on my bike unless I was going to treck to the artic, Even Santa wouldn't put those on a bike.

Gee I think of heated gloves and the imagination goes off and I picture myself riding down the road with my hands on fire waving them everywhere!!! AAAHHHHH

Back in the 70's I can remember my Grandfather having some electric socks. They were powered by a big square 6 volt lantern battery which was carried in a belt pack. I think latter incarnations had a 9 volt battery at the top of each sock.

I've never tried them, but I can't imagine that 1.5v would be able to provide much in the way of heat. I could be wrong, though.

when riding its not the amount of "heat" but the blocking of the air moving around and through the glove. As long as there is a air space around your hands and fingers that is the farly constant then it won't take much to heat them. Thats one of the reasons when it really cold out, your should dress in multiple layers of cloths.

No it is just quiet enough I can yell it as I go by. Course I might be moving too fast for them to hear it all!
