for the folks that dont remember or didnt know, i broke my neck a couple of years ago and had been pretty dependent on oxycodone for almost 2 years. a couple of months ago i was able to stop taking the damn things. Tonight, i had to end up taking a few. i literally couldnt get up out of my recliner to go to the damn bathroom without help i hurt so damn bad. even my freshly harvested "herbal pain killer" didnt help. i hate these damn narcotics so much but what are you going to do?  :P
Of all God's creatures there is only one that cannot be made the slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.

I 've had that kind of pain, but luckily it has passed.
A lot of prayers helped, I say some for you.

Fuzzy,

Taking them because you actually need them is one thing but taking them because you THINK you might need them or just recreationally is another thing.

Jeff, I'm also praying for you and this problem with the pain. Like has been said, YOU aren't taking them for ANY reason, except because YOU NEED them! Be comforted in knowing that, at least, they DO help the situation! So many times, in the past, I've had problems with the muscles around my shoulders and neck, that they would cramp up bad enough to bring tears to your eyes and some of the meds that I was prescribed, didn't really seem to help. It would hurt so bad that when I ernt to lay on the bed, I had to actually FALL onto the bed and bear the pain. I couldn't simply LAY down because the pain was so bad. And to get up, I had to roll off of the bed onto my hands and knees, bearing the pain as I worked my way up. Now, I am IN NO WAY saying that MY pain was worse than yours or anyone else', I'm just relating that I'm glad that your meds seem to do YOU some good. Hang in there, I know it's hard, but YOU can do it! ;)
