Little metal switch under seat?
« on: September 13, 2009, 07:17:46 PM »
What is the little metal switch under the seat on my cb550, and what is it used for? Its above the airbox on the left side of the bike and you can only see it when the seat is up.

Ahha, you just discovered the turbo-boost-rocket- hidden- in- the exhaust switch...naah, just kidding, it's the warp factor 5 enabler anti-matter thingy...
Probably an ignition kill/ anti-theft sw. installed by PO.....
If your sure it's a carb problem; it's ignition,

dude you've got a secret prototype time traveller bike.  that switch activates the time circuits. there should be another one somewhere to activate the flux capacitor.
These bikes dont die, they hibernate until the right person wakes them up again.

Unfortunately, I think it has to get up to 88 MPH. In its current condition, it doesn't have a chance ;D

I was thinking the exact same thing when I read the title of the thread. :)

Anyway, lets see this mystery switch? Pix? Could it be a light switch? When I picked up my bike, the PO had a switch to turn off the headlight. He felt it was taking too much juice, and want to drive during the day without the light on.

I'll snap a pic sometime tonight and post tomorrow. I don't think its to the light because of the location. Kill seems more likely since its locked under the seat.
