Bench synching?
« on: September 14, 2009, 12:49:14 PM »
Okay, so I got my '78 750k carbs all cleaned up, ready to reinstall, but I'd like to do what "synching" I can while the carbs are still off the bike.

Can you give me a breif rundown on what I should be synching, adjusting before I put them back on the bike?

Go to the FAQ section of this board. You will find a nice tutorial on the subject. That 78 will have a "slave" carb and I believe it is #2 as it was on my K7. You will sync the other 3 carbs to the #2. You are actually getting all the carb slides the same on all 4 carbs. That is a brief summary. The adjustment area is under the top cap of the carbs at the very top of the slide location. Let us know how it goes...

what i do, works pretty well

i read the one in the Carb FAQ and did that on my CB500. That one said a 1/8th drill bit gap. is that way too much cause my bike is misbehaving now.

the drill bit size really doesn't matter cause you need to back the idle screw down anyhow
