Online interchange manual. Is there one?
« on: December 04, 2005, 11:01:47 PM »
While looking over eBay to rejuvinate my '78 550K, I see a lot of parts advertised as CB550/CB750. Is there a site which can tell me what will really interchange? I understand, perhaps mistakenly, that Honda assigns different numbers to the same part.

For those who haven't found it, there is this site which gives diagrams and numbers.

While looking over eBay  ........    I see a lot of parts advertised as CB550/CB750. .....

What you are seeing is sellers who really don't care about accurately describing a part and are only looking to move their merchandise. I don't know if this is because they don't know what they have or don't care who they screw.
There are only a few parts which will directly interchange between the CB500/550's and the 750's.
If you are going to deal with these people you better know what you are buying because they are not going to tell you, if they even know!

100% correct!  It's called Keyword Spamming and is used to draw attention to an auction that you were not intending to search for.  I refuse to bid on items from sellers who use this tactic because it clutters up the auction search page with things I don't need.  Occasionally I'll even email the seller to tell them that the part they are auctioning is exactly what I need, but they lost my bid the second they decided to take the low road.
