Wow. Silicondoc, that is the longest thread I think I've ever seen on ANY forum. Congrats. You're trolling skills are truly epic.

Also, Kit's right. Describing someone as a lesbian, especially in this context, might lead some to think you are using it as a placeholder for "#$%*".

I read just the first page of this thread and then jumped to the last one. Not to my surprise, the "lesbian" thing was still up.

As a reader who had never heard about some Charlie in Frisco before reading this thread, I found Geeto's story pretty "impersonal" from the point of view that he was describing his perception of the situation and how he judges he was not dealt with a businesslike approach. I also found that the "lesbian" was an irrelevant information, as it would have been whether they were black, old, chinese, thai, bald etc. It reminds me of my mother, that needs one hour to tell you the most inane story because she tells every single detail, from whether it was cloudy to the color of the shoes she was wearing. It is a PITA because you have to listen carefully and remind all the details thinking they will have something to do with the story, just to find out that they don't.... :-)

My .2 cents? If I have a tank for sale and on display, it is for sale to the first who comes with money. If it is a rare part, then the sale price will reflect it. If I want it just for the locals, I will hide it from sight and tell my friends to always ask me for the parts they need and don't trust that only what is on sight is for sale, or sell the good pieces to the locals and the junk to the walk-ins. The part is on sight, the sticker reflects the prices, the walk-in decides whether he wants to spend the money, end of the story.

Charlie could be busy dealing with his webpage, but probably he would do better dealing with the employees that are ruining his reputation. Unless he wants -seems like- to expand his business into the Web and open his shops only on demand of his local customers and/or friends.

charlie explained to me yesterday that the person I had been talking to was only on the job 2 weeks and was not a motorcycle person. This was something I was not aware. He agreed I was fed wrong information and I was getting the the get lost vibe, but it was due more to the fact that this new hire was caught in a situation she did not know how to handle and probably just wanted to be out of it more than anything else. All she had to say to me was "I am new here" and the whole thing would have gone a different way but this was one of those instances where she tried to handle it herself and it went poorly.

As far as I am concerned, he took the time to talk to me about this and work it out, and that has redeemed him for any poor service I received.

Wow Silicone Doc - your brand of crazy runs really deep, and only seems to be rivaled by your misunderstanding and blind hatred. Call me a con-artist, call me a liar, call me anything you want - my reputation among the new york motorcycle community speaks for itself and frankly there is little you can do to affect that by writing lots of nonsense in the pretend land of the internet. What do you do for your M/C community?

BTW, I am NOT a reporter. A reporter works for a news organization and reports news stories based in fact, a journalist writes for magazines and writes stuff that doesn't qualify as news. content makes all the difference. If I was truly the con-artist you make me out to be I would have posted my dissatisfaction in legitimate news sources and not on motorcycle enthusiast message board.

I kind of got that vibe from the way you described the encounter. She probably felt a bit in over her head in such a stereotypically testosterone fueled environment and decided to act tough to try to (over)compensate. Kind of reminds me of some people when hey first move to NYC. They think that since their in the biggest, baddest city on earth they have to act like they are callous and jaded ALL THE TIME. They probably don't even realize that they are actually coming across as massive pricks. Anyway, glad you found some resolution.

Speaking of, after talking about that snooty coffee shop across the street, I went over to get some coffee...looks like the #$%*y girl got fired and they hired a new (F-ing gorgeous) barista who is super friendly. Douchebaggery does not pay it seems.

Sorry to bump this thread again, but I don't have a job and the boredom is becoming acute. I'll go back to asking stupid questions and giving dodgy advice now...

I'm new, but it seems to me that the "love" is present in the way many on here stick up for one of it's own when a "person" dishes out poor customer service for one reason or another. The sexual nature may or may not play a role in the part. We weren't there so trust comes into play.

I would submit that this thread has run its course. Geeto and Charlie have worked it out.
