Barbers Motorsports Park - Vintage Festival Oct 9, 10, 11th
« on: September 13, 2009, 06:03:20 PM »
Guys, there is an event coming soon that I would encourage everyone to attend. Barbers Motorsports Park is having their Vintage Festival on the 9, 10, and 11th of October in Leeds Alabama I've pasted a link below. There is vintage racing all weekend, the nation's premier motorsports museum, swap meet, demonstration rides by Triumph and Ducati (last year), air show, VJMC pancake breakfast, VJMC peoples choice show, and lots of good folks everywhere. I met Ed Critz and Brent Waller last year.

Bill, you've promised to try to come - I'd like to see a show of hands for those who are making the trip - I'd certainly like to meet everyone that comes.

Here are a few tempting looks at a few of the 1,000 + machines inside the museum - truely something for everyone.

Best Regards,
Gordon

Gordon,

We're unable to attend this year but to those wondering about Barber, it is a fantastic event.

The VJMC guys get the prime spot for a reason, there is lots to do & see.

For lodgings there's both camping at the track and several motels within 20 minutes.

I'll be there racing my 1970 CB 750.  Big grey Dodge van in the pits.

Guys, you can go here and get all of the hotel and camping information. I will tell you that lots of campling still exist, but please reserve early - the nearest hotels are gone. I had to get a hotel some 20 miles away because the ones outside the track filled-up early - July.

They have food, showers, and lots to see. Camping is well organized and patrolled, so don't hesitate to pack a bike and come see it. The vintage racing is awesome. As you can see above, there is going to be machinery of evry kind out there doing battle on one of the best tracks in the world. This entire park is set-up in a golf-course setting. He even waters the grass so it's nice and green. It' snot hot, it's not cold - October is a good time to be in Alabama. I lived there for 30 years and will swear that October is the best month for this event.

Come on, no waiting until next year. Gordon

This year the "super size" Bass Pro shop will be open on top of the hill for her to wonder around in. This is my favorite event of the year
