It's alive!!
« on: September 21, 2009, 02:29:22 PM »
Hi,

My CL 350 twin that I have been rebuilding all year finally started last night. It took the whole weekend to get the clutch adjusted,
fix the brake cam, set the timing, etc. At about 9:30PM it started up and wanted to really go. I won't take it out of the driveway
until I can really get it road worthy.

This thing has been taken apart since last Fall, It's good to see the gas tank actually on it and not in a corner of the garage.

Thanks to everyone who helped. I still have to give it a decent road test to check it out.

Congrats, I hope to eventually feel the same way!
P.S. can you remove the top end on the 350's with the engine still in the frame?

I am sorry to say no. I've been in your place before and figured it out. I couldn't get the cam case cover off no matter what. You have to take the engine off the frame.
It's not so bad a chore though. Just make sure you save everything carefully for the re-install.

You can take off the side covers if you need to without removing the engine.

I think the pipes are the only thing you need to change. There is a slight difference in torque values too.
I also had some kind of performance cam with bigger lobes in my bike. Now I have a standard cam from a CB model.

Good luck!
