Does Carpy give any jetting recommendations with these pipes?

nope, no jetting recommendations.  Mike came in to save mere here!  here's what he recommended for me with that exhaust and pods without a big bore kit:

"You will need to increase the main jet approximately 3 to 4 sizes and may have to increase the pilot jet 1 size. The needle will not need adjustment. Make sure your intake boots are in very good condition....vacuum leaks will kill any mods. Also...sync the carbs and adjust the valves."

I had been bugging him about helping me with some ideas for my build, and with this pipe and pods, that's what he recommended.  also, some head work will probably be included...

and yes, nice little present to yourself!!  :-D

Carpy, Carpy, Carpy....How many frigging bikes have an inline 4 engine? I am using a header off a CBR Hurricane on my CB550. I almost got the pipes from my ZRX to fit! I would rather buy a stock part off a newer streetbike than buy an aftermarket anything. Just my opinion. I might just be jelous that others have the $$ to buy new parts while I am dumpster diving. whatever.

I have to be honest....I do not like the quality of that finish. The pipe in the eBay pics has a totally different finish.....the pic of the purchased pipe looks Mexican Kal Guard. I recently bought an older Vance&Hines pipe for my FJ and the finish was the same....peppled/textured. I'm not looking to rain on a parade but it is obvious to me.
Personally.... do what I did. Send it to Jet Hot for a true ceramic coating. I'll post pics of the FJ pipe.
There is no way he could sell that pipe with a true ceramic finish for 400.00.....or 500.00 for that matter.
you are correct sir. i have one (carpy) and the coating is already starting flake off by the exhaust port. i was very disappointed with the finish. I won't buy another one.

I got mine in raw finish.coated the inside and left the outside alone.its always garaged, and a lil wipe down with w-d 40 keeps it pretty.I love it but I am still working on tuning.
its better to regret something you have done, than something you havent.Except playing with explosives.

Found this in stainless.....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CB750K-70-77-4N1-YOSHI-REP-EXHAUST-CAFE-STAINLESS-CB750-/110552835569?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19bd7665f1

Could be the guy that makes Carpy's pipes..

Mick

+1....I shot him a question and he replied, that he also has a Yoshi pipe for 550 from Japan he was going to use to make replicas of......but thought there was no interest. :o

I have told him I might be interested....and asked him for a price in steel and stainless.

I also emailed him thru eBay to ask about 550 pipes as well, told him there are not too many options out there.

I hope to hear back from him soon, and I'll keep you guys posted!

COOL!  Appreciate you doing that!  He is under the impression that there is ZERO market for the 550 Yosh pipes in the USA......he needs to know we are here!

I have been looking forward to my MAC's arrival...now what?  $hit!!!! ;D ;D >:(

I asked him if he'd do a 500/550 version and he said:

Arghhh!
Why didn't I see this one before ordering my Mac 4 into 1 last Sunday?
Went with the Mac because the Yamiya was a bit much and Carpy never seems to have any in stock.

Oh I'm interested, I'll have to ask him about whipping up a set for a '77 F2, wouldn't think it'd be that hard. I had planned on picking up a set from Carpy in a ceramic black coating but I have always been a fan of stainless, nothing shines like stainless!!

Thanks Mick!!
