Will a '75 GL1000 speedo drive a CB750K speedometer correctly?
« on: September 16, 2009, 07:05:02 AM »
I know it's a pretty specific question but I don't really have a way to verify if the speedo drives (ratios, cable style, etc.) are the same between the CB750K and the early GL1000.
I ask because I'm trying to decide what gauge setup to use for my build and I'm doing the GL1000 fork swap.  My stock CB750 gauges are in really good condition and I'd like to re-use them if at all possible.
Thanks in advance.

Has learned so far that..."complete" gaskets are never complete no matter where you get them, VHT Silver Case Paint is just as durable as painting your motor with chalk and cheap tire irons used with rim protectors are useless on 30 year old tires.

it should. Most (like 90%) of the japanese speedometers use the same ratio so it is just a matter of the cable fitting.

Cool, thanks.
I'll give it a try and post how it works out.

You'll have to use the GL drive,  it is angled to clear the 2nd disk.  I am using it with my 750 gauges.
No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.
