New Super Cub for sale in the US
« on: September 17, 2009, 10:34:19 AM »
Just curious what your thoughts are on this new super cub type scooter? I know I would have one. I certainly does a good job of looking the part while providing a thurough upgrade from the original (much like the new triumphs and such). I'm just glad to see something like it is being sold here in the US again. I don't know for sure but I'm guessing the last time we had something like this it was the Honda Passport in the early 80s.

Looks good!  Can't go wrong with a simple, classic, time-tested design.  I wouldn't mind owning one, but being a classic bike guy I'd go for a classic Super Cub first, if given the option.

Is it fair to compare a 40 year old bike to one made in 2009?
I'd go for the cub too, could restore it cheaper than a modern knock-off.

Ha!  Did you catch the wave to the other motorcyclist at 3:36 in the first video?   :)

The Symba looks nice.  My girlfriend got an old C90 Cub for $75.  It was a complete mess, but we fixed it up pretty nice.  It's missing the leg shield, but other than that it's pretty much complete.  It was my first restore project.  Unfortunately, we never really completely went through the engine, so it runs rough.  It still needs some love.  But she went and got two S90s, an S65, and a couple Dreams which, of course, she expects me to restore.  I only have so much love to spread around....
