Thats more like screwing around though lynch. I used to do that on a on old honda trail70 and then yamaha endure.
But I can agree with andy. Until he comes to the midwest meaning minnesota/north dakota and tries to attempt riding here.
You see, we are not like most other areas in winter, think interior of canada. We have WEEKS where the average temp does not get about -10. I can tell you, there is a BIG difference between 10F and -10F. We get excited in the winter when we get 10F, if it lasts for a couple of days, that is a heat wave. Once we get snow here, it stays. Rarely does it go away and if it does, you have a day maybe 2 and thats it. but that is just the SNOW, that does not take into account the 2-3 inches of ice on the roads. You will not be on 2 wheels here. Maybe 3 if you got a side hack but even then the best you are going to do is town driving unless you got everything heated. If you try hiway and are lucky enough to actually stay up, windchills will drop the temp very fast. An average day here in the winter will see below 0 wind chill if the temp is above 0. If there is any wind at all, you can generally drop 20 degrees of the temp.
So the whole "you have to ride year round to be a biker thing" just doesn't work here. Besides, I believe that being a biker is about your mindset, not how much work you do on your bike or what weather you are dumb enough to ride in.
