Here to help.

I imagine having a bit of a breakdown available, either by model (350/400) (500/550) (650) (750)
Or by mod type (system). Suspension, Top End, Bottom End, Frame

Something like that, yes.
No.

I agree with mod type... but I also agree with model.

Hmmmmm....

Seeing as how most of my modifications are associated with frame suspension etc... and can technically be applied to EVERY model and make.

I going to lean towards mod type.

I would say set up by mod type. The basics of any mod could be applied to any model.

Since so many of the mods are model specific, I'd think we need the 4 model groups. And at least 2 sub assemblies (Chassis, Engine) for each group...

OK guys, how about if we break it down as Mark says by capacity.

(350/400)

(500/550)

(650)

(750)

These 4 forums would then be sub devided into (motor including carbs/ignition/exhaust)
(chassis includes wheels/forks/frame/tanks/seats/fairing)

3 forums to cater for Road race, Drag race and land speed racing with no sub sections.

A final forum where business can show case their products.
Remember guys, we have some very clued up people/companies on this board, Mark (kos) of M3 racing, Jay (bigjay) APE and Ken (ken736) sales for Orient Express. Also the small business people and part timers like Mike Rieck (MRieck), Kevin (ttr400), Greg (ohiocafracer), Rob (Voxonda) and Simon (lordmoonpie).
This section will probably have to be agreed by Glenn as I can't remember the terms of belonging to this community in respect of advertising.

i agree with sam.  let's do it by displacement, then further divide those sections into mod types.  keep all the advertisements in their own section.  just my $.02

Does this section have a distinct purpose completely separate from that of the SOHC/4 section? Where do you put troubleshooting problems? Do problems on a stock bike go in the SOHC/4 section and problems on a modified bike go in this section?

this is exciting! i'm just a slob with a stocker but anything that stimulates the sohc/4 breed is a plus.

question: what about (likely limited) modifications applying to all/several models, where/how would that go so as not to have redundant posts?

It would depend if it was any use in a race motor, if you don't post your ideas, however small, you'll never know what others think of it. Thanks for asking though Bill, that's the idea of this sounding out thread.

Maybe a sticky for hipo parts manufacturers as well? Hipo parts are hard to find and are spread all over the planet, so having a thread that catalogues these manufacturers would be excellent..?

Yes Sam, thats the idea. When i got my latest Honda 4's i had had a 20 year break between old Honda's, so finding parts manufacturers was a nightmare, thanks to this wonderful forum its no longer the case. When it comes to after market High Performance parts its a different kettle of fish, so having them all listed in the one place for the performance guys would be great....Would be even better if they would all lower their prices  ;D ;D ;D

Okay, now this IS sounding exciting! Just one question (for now), is there ANY thought to allowing a section for those who might have something other than a SOHC4, that they might want to post questions, info or whatever, about! I meant there are folks who are building Honda CB350s to race, also the 450s, there is SOME interest in the XS650 Yamahas, do you see what I mean? a section for the OTHER bikes, might not have to be broken down like the ones FOR the SOHC4. Or is this gonna be dedicated ONLY to the SOHC4s? Just Askin' ???
