I have been tinkering with my CB550 for awhile and I am just wondering what kind of acceleration times other 550 owners are seeing. I don't have anyone else with a similar bike to ride and gauge my performance with. I read once that these bikes were "Cammy" at about 6-7k, but I'm not seeing it. The power increase is consistent and smooth from about 4500 all the way to 8500.
The bike is virtually stock with the exception of slightly taller gearing. (it runs spot on 4,000 rpm at 50 mph in 5th gear). It also has uni a foam filter. it has the stock size rear wheel and tire too. Nothing that would make it lighter either.
What are your 0-60 and say, 30-70 times? I know my 0-60 time will be slower bc of the gearing, but I am just curious to see if I'm in the ball park. Oh, and I am about 220 lbs, with gear.
I have not done a top speed test yet. Maybe this weekend...
