Topic: CB550 Serial Number & Part Dilemma

My 1975 CB550 K1 has a serial number of 1228785. The parts fiche from Honda says that the front fork seal for my bike goes up to frame #1221024. The '76 model starts at frame #1230000. It looks like I'm stuck in the middle.

Please give me some input on which way I should go on this. It seems logical that since my serial # is toward the end of the 1975 production #'s that Honda started switching parts into the '76 production model prior to the end of the '75 production run and that I would order the fork seals from the 1976 model but I hate to order and have to try to return, etc.

But I don't know, just a guess. Hope someone else has a better idea than me.

just make sure they're 35X48X11 and they'll work fine. same size seals for both bikes, the lowers are just taller on the later ones.
