CB750--Indicator light jewels in the gauge faces
« on: September 25, 2009, 08:21:35 pm »
I have some CB750 K1 gauges that have the indicator lights in the gauge faces (like a K0).  They have fallen out but I have them.  Is there any good way to reattach them other than just setting them in & trying to drip/brush some super glue around them?  I searched & found nothing except a complete disassenbly & then they did not have the jewel issue.  I had a junk speedo I tried to disassemble.  It appears I am not patient enought to get that ring off in any reuseable form, so I think a complete teardown is out.

Ideas?

Two part epoxy (the stuff that comes in those double syringe looking things) is amazingly strong and far better for repairing or adhering to plastic than super glue, in most cases. The longer the set time, the better the adhesion, so go for the 12 hour set time and let them sit overnight. Also, degrease all surfaces (with alcohol) that you will be applying the epoxy to and it will never come off. I have never had a repair fail me yet using this stuff, that has been properly prepped first - from plastic to glass, it's really amazing stuff.
