As I was researching parts for my build "Pacific NorthWet - CB400F Cafe build - winter 2010" -
http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=80055.0 I was debating what to do with the parts I remove from the CB400F. Some I'll ultimately sell but it got me to thinking, what if I found a frame to go with the GPX 150 engine I pulled from my Kikker Hardknock when I replaced it with the CB200 engine. It's a sharp looking engine, has only 500 miles on it and I would never get anything close to what I paid for it - the engine:
Just as all this was going through my head a seller on CL over in Spokane listed a 1969 SL90 - it was way too nice for what I had planned but it got me to wondering if maybe I could find an SL90 parts bike, or maybe just a frame. Not sure if it was fate of stupidity but I entered a search on fleabay and a couple of days later a frame came up for sale. I ended up winning the auction and now have an SL90 frame to go with my GPX 150 engine - the frame:
Not sure yet what to use for a tank or seat. When I take the front end & swing arm off the CB400F I'll adapt them to the SL90 frame, get it rolling and then install the engine. The rest will just have to work itself out, I'm sure something will come to me as I get deeper into the build.
