I R Newb
« on: September 21, 2009, 12:27:13 PM »
Hello, been lurking for a few months and decided to finally maybe actually start posting :)  I own a '74 550k that needs work, pretty standard.  Currently it is in pieces, but it started out like this:

I do a lot of work on cars, mostly imports and most specifically Nissans.  This is my first motorcycle and I can already tell it wont be the last :)

My other project:

Thanks for having me and for the great forums.

Nice starting point.  Your seat can join the ever growing pile of same seats that everyone else here has, yes? lol

Got plans for it yet?  or still excavating?

Tells us about the engine mods on the mazda.

Haha yeah whoever made this seat way back when is probably swimming in money!  Good news is it has a decently shaped seat pan inside, and I think Imma try to salvage it and re-cut the foam into something more modern.

As far as the rest of the bike is concerned Im kind of on the fence. I love this bike...

...and will probably make something in the same style, but not exactly.  As of now Im waiting on the ol' Clymer to get in before I do any real work.

The Mazda...hmmm.  Its basically a fat money pit :)  What you see is what you get really, started with a '89 TII and swapped in a redtop SR20 with some bolt-ons.  Still stock turbo, but I have a nice GT2860RS waiting to go on. Did all the work myself in a friend's shop.
