OK this one is going a different direction than my "13" project.
This is a 74 CB750K.
Also a one owner but this guy was a real live drug dealer...Long story short he no longer owns his pet...
I originally went to look at the bike as just another project. The original pictures were VERY bad and I thought the bike had comstars or lesters on it.
The bike has a treasure trove of neat vintage stuff.
Hayashi Wheels.
John Tickle rearsets.
Amen Air box.
RC header and pipe.
Fork air caps.
Dual disc conversion with braided lines.
SS super bike bars and a temporary modern master for the dual disc conversion. I switch to a GL1000 master when it is done.
It has been cammed but not sure if it is a big bore.
It has a lot of grunt and makes a pretty cool noise.
And it has a bit too much chrome.
The paint is nasty and I had to remove the WORST cafe seat/fender combination I had ever seen.
It will bob a nice fender for it and give it some other cosmetic help after I get all the mechanicals sorted out.
First pic is still in the truck.
Next few are after I removed the 40 pound cafe seat and got it running.
Check out the John Tickle rear sets and the HAYASHI mags. If you look close you can see the Amen airbox too.
More of the same. It actually looks kind of cool all ratted out ... Hard to decide if it should be fixed back up or ride it as is.
More chrome, and more rat-ness...lol.
The CB750 was built in July of 1974. The CB400F was built in October of 1974.
