I need your help.....
« on: September 25, 2009, 01:30:17 PM »
I need a titled neck. I don't need the frame or the neck even. Just the title and VIN tag if that's all you have.

Looking for a CB450 title and VIN #'s. I'll gladly pay.

Illinois was all well and good and it looks like I forgot to dot some I's and cross some T's. So now they are giving me a seriously hard time. Saying the only way I can title this poor old bike is to get a bil of sale from the dead owner. Sure.... I'll get right on that.

Doesn't have to be a 450... or even a Honda. I just need something with a clear title.

I searched my shop and storage areas up and down and have nothing to show... go figure.

Now I know some of you think what I am doing is illegal. It could be misunderstood as that sure. But this bike has a bill of sale from the PO's son... all notorized and legal... but because it only has a 9 digit VIN and not the new 17 digit one, I'm getting bit in the butt.

I saved this bike from destruction and got it for free. All I want to do is ride it. Cops around here don't even look at VIN plates. Just as long as everything matches (i.e. license plates and registration) you are fine.

I've done this hundreds of times before without trouble. But I've never forgot a piece of paperwork either. So the trouble begins.
