I am in the Western 1/2 of USA

Not sure if it is still open but was in the 70, 80s, probably longer.

Flat Track bikes had Front brakes when they ran there

Track closed for a year, or more, then reopened. When it reopened its elevation was approx 16 feet higher, but in the same location..

Where Am I

... guess away, no more clues for a while..

I am yes, but the track in question, is/was in the Western 1/2 of the USA..

I tried to give a major clue in the first post, then edited it to make that clear.. that and the way I answered someone should narrow it down.... a whole lot...

Yeah Castle Rock, Wa ...just north of Portland.

Way After Mt St Helens blew I drove by in my car, think it was 79 or 80. Took a photo of the front of the area from the road, and the dirt was around 2/3 of the way up the power poles

..all mudflow from the Volcano..

So they rebuilt the track, just higher up..

Rode to watch the TT twice, by bike, its about 500 miles from us, lots of spectators with bikes there..great fun..

I am starting to think that maybe not many on here go to bike races?

Yes, and the track was kidney shaped, not sure if it had a jump.. so the bikes used front brakes..

Think there was only a few TTs, Peoria in the east was one..

When we were at CASTLE ROCK we were at the bar... guy rides up on a chopped hog with fatbobs, and stock dash.. Had about a 4 yr old boy sitting in front of him, puts the stand down , walks into the bar.. kid still on bike and its running.

So I yell as he enters the door, "You forgot to switch off the bike'.. he smiles and says, "The kid will switch it off when he gets tired of listening to it"

LMAO....

Spanner , Prince Geo..is about 8ish hrs or a bit more from Van, cant say off the top of my head if Burns lake is before or after that... got some bike plates in my collection ftom Burns lake(at least 1)
